In this quarterly blog, we will be taking a look at the Rosenberg View (fig. 1) of the knee (also known as the PA View in some facilities) and how it relates to and/or differs from the Tunnel view (fig. 2) (which takes different names and positions) of the knee.

In regards to positioning, one is done standing (Rosenberg / PA) while the other is done supine (Tunnel). That would be the first difference.

From a pathological/diagnostic perspective, both demonstrate the notch for spurs, loose bodies and other abnormalities. The significant difference lies in the Rosenberg view, where it better establishes focal narrowing of the posterior aspect of the medial and/ or lateral femoral tibial joint compartments in order to indicate whether they are present.
